Merchandising Manager

About the role

The Merchandising Manager supports sales teams in meeting volume, distribution, and display goals. Working closely with sales development representatives and merchandisers, the manager drives performance through planning, coaching, and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong communication with sales, relaying customer issues and changes in shelf or displays.
• Build and sustain relationships with key accounts, identify opportunities, and develop opening display plans.
• Coordinate brand priorities for pulse periods and promotions with local supplier representatives.
• Manage supplier surveys, plan routes, pre‑survey accounts, and create action plans with sales FSMs and AMs.
• Lead bi‑monthly planning meetings with SDRs to set sales/display objectives and review performance.
• Conduct one‑on‑one pre‑planning sessions each month to strategize goal achievement.
• Define monthly merchandising priorities in collaboration with Division and POS Managers.
• Supervise and coach merchandisers and sales development representatives, including performance evaluations and 90‑day reviews.
• Participate in interview, selection, and onboarding processes for new associates.
• Ensure adherence to work rules, promote accountability, and provide performance counseling.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and develop sales‑focused teams.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with sales, suppliers, and key accounts.
• Experience in planning, organizing, and executing merchandising initiatives.
• Capability to analyze performance data and implement improvement plans.
• Comfort with conducting interviews, onboarding, and performance management.
