Merchandise Planner

About the role

The Wholesale Merchandise Planner is a core member of Fair Harbor’s planning, merchandising and sales team. You will develop seasonal buying strategies, manage open‑to‑buy budgets, and ensure the right products are available at the right time to drive sell‑through and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute seasonal buying plans aligned with brand strategy and sales targets.
• Manage open‑to‑buy (OTB) budgets across categories to maximize sell‑through and minimize excess inventory.
• Partner with sales, design, and brand teams to curate assortments that reflect customer profiles and market trends.
• Analyze sales, margin and sell‑through data to inform assortment decisions and future planning.
• Collaborate with sales to create product presentations and line sheets for wholesale accounts.
• Monitor competitive landscape and retail trends to keep the assortment market‑relevant.
• Develop markdown and promotional strategies to clear slow‑moving inventory.
• Coordinate inventory timelines with sales, warehouse, logistics and operations teams.
• Manage replenishment strategies, transfer orders and inventory receipt reconciliation in NetSuite.
• Build weekly, monthly and seasonal reports on sell‑through, revenue, OTB and account performance.
• Present data‑driven insights to senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
• Leverage AI and analytics tools such as Excel and Claude to create scalable reporting frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing seasonal buying plans and managing OTB budgets.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret sales, margin and inventory data.
• Experience collaborating with sales, design and brand teams in a wholesale environment.
• Familiarity with inventory management processes and wholesale product presentation.
• Ability to produce clear, data‑driven recommendations for senior leadership.
