Mental Health & Justice Coordinator (Atlanta)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Mental Health & Justice Coordinator to support statewide jail‑in‑reach and specialty programs. This hybrid position works three days per week in the Atlanta office and involves travel across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and amend programmatic contracts, including invoice processing.
• Evaluate program compliance with grant and federal guidelines.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting.
• Create short‑ and long‑term objectives, policies, protocols, and guidelines for assigned programs.
• Maintain effective communication with regional staff, law‑enforcement agencies, community partners, and the criminal‑justice system.
• Plan, direct, and implement specialty mental‑health‑justice initiatives.
• Conduct quality‑improvement activities and oversee data collection and analysis.
• Provide technical assistance, networking, and consultation to stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate provider meetings and coordinate with contracts and budget staff.

Required profile

• Ability to evaluate programs for compliance with grant/federal requirements.
• Experience in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting.
• Proven skill in developing policies, protocols, and program objectives.
• Strong communication and collaboration with law‑enforcement, justice, and community partners.
• Knowledge of DBHDD adult mental‑health services and justice‑mental‑health collaboration models.
