Medical Staff Floor Manager

About the role

The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) provides urgent, subsidized veterinary care to vulnerable animals in New York City, including those whose owners face financial hardship and animals referred by partners such as the NYPD. The Medical Staff Floor Manager leads the medical floor, reporting to the Senior Director, Floor Managers and managing 10-12 direct reports. The role ensures a seamless, compassionate experience for clients and their pets, from check-in to check-out, and optimizes daily operations and workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and mentorship to the LVT and HVA team, covering performance management, conflict resolution and team development through coaching, feedback and training.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing levels and scheduling, and assist staff with direct animal care at least 50% of the work week.
• Help build and maintain a strong team, mediate conflicts, manage disciplinary actions and promote the organization's core values and Fear Free practices.
• Contribute to standard operating procedures, monitor key performance indicators, and take part in strategic planning to improve employee satisfaction and efficiency.
• Review and approve operations schedules, time off and timecards, and ensure teams finish all duties before closing.

What we offer

• Target hiring salary of $68,000-$73,000 per year, depending on education, experience and other factors.
