About the role
Real Chemistry is seeking a senior Medical Director to lead publication strategy and execution for its pharmaceutical and biotech clients. This role blends scientific expertise with strategic communication, ensuring evidence is translated into credible, compliant, and impactful publications and broader medical affairs content.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement publication strategies aligned with client objectives, evidence priorities, and medical affairs goals.
- Lead planning and execution of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, congress activities, plain‑language summaries, and other dissemination formats.
- Identify evidence gaps, determine sequencing, select target journals and congresses, engage authors, and measure publication impact.
- Provide scientific direction for medical affairs deliverables such as core decks, advisory board materials, medical education content, field tools, and congress resources.
- Translate clinical, HEOR, real‑world evidence, and published data into clear narratives for both publication and broader medical affairs channels.
Required profile
- Senior scientific leader with extensive experience in medical publications and medical affairs.
- Proven ability to serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal teams, guiding evidence‑based communication.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape and regulatory compliance for scientific content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing high‑quality scientific documents.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of publication planning, manuscript development, abstract and poster creation.
- Expertise in translating clinical, HEOR, and real‑world evidence into clear scientific narratives.
- Familiarity with journal selection, author engagement, and impact measurement methodologies.
