Medical Billing Specialist (ABA)

About the role

Camber is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist focused on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. You will work remotely to support behavioral health providers by managing the full revenue cycle for autism and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, review, and submit claims for behavioral health providers, emphasizing autism services.
• Monitor claim status and proactively follow up on delayed, unpaid, or denied claims.
• Research payer portals and contact payers to clarify denials, resolve issues, and handle disputes or reconsiderations.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and verify that payments and adjustments are accurately posted.
• Manage patient financial responsibility, including co‑pays and co‑insurance.
• Partner with Insurance Operations, Customer Experience, and Engineering teams to resolve billing issues and improve workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and communicate payer or workflow changes to leadership.
• Participate in live Zoom meetings with a camera‑on policy, collaborating with cross‑functional partners.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of revenue cycle management experience, including billing for commercial and Medicaid plans; ABA or multi‑specialty billing is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with claim submission, payment posting, denials, corrections, disputes, and appeals.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management systems.
• Experience using clearinghouses and payer portals.
