Medical Assistant - Urgent Care West Monroe (PRN)

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. The Medical Assistant supports both patients and providers throughout each visit, ensuring smooth workflow and effective communication.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout the visit, preparing rooms and ensuring readiness.
• Answer patient questions, provide excellent service over the phone and in person, and complete necessary documentation.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Handle confidential information, comply with Department of Transportation drug testing procedures, and adhere to all company policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision and handling confidential information.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications for documenting medical information.
