Medical Assistant – HH Infusion & Injection Services (Full‑Time Days)

About the role

The Cancer Center at Central Harnett Hospital is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to support HH Infusion & Injection Services on a full‑time day schedule. You will work under the supervision of physicians and licensed staff, providing both clinical and administrative assistance to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain patient rights, confidentiality, dignity and well‑being.
• Collect and process point‑of‑care, lab and pathology samples according to CFVH policy.
• Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies.
• Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications and therapies as ordered.
• Provide patient education under provider direction.
• Chaperone, set up and assist with procedures and examinations.
• Handle reusable instruments for sterilization and dispose of biohazard/pharmaceutical waste per OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean patient care environment following infection‑prevention standards.
• Manage front‑desk reception duties, schedule appointments and assist with ICD/CPT coding.
• Coordinate with external health partners (home health, hospice, DME, community paramedics, ACO).
• Monitor Epic In‑Basket messages and respond in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with up to 12 months of experience.
• Ability to obtain vital signs, update patient charts and compile statistical data.
• Knowledge of JCAHO standards, infection control and OSHA waste‑disposal regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, patient‑centered attitude and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
