Medical Assistant 2 (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 to join the UHealth Ambulatory Clinics at the University of Miami. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, you will provide hands‑on patient care and support clinical procedures in a culturally competent environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies and instruments for provider examinations.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, obtain vital signs, conduct EKGs, and draw blood (phlebotomy).
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures, adhering to aseptic technique.
• Administer medications as ordered, escort patients, and transport them within the facility.
• Maintain and sterilize medical instruments, manage inventory, and order supplies.
• Provide patients with post‑visit instructions and schedule follow‑up tests.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical setting while following regulatory and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient privacy and ethical practice.
