Mechatronics Engineer

About the role

Wing is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join its Aircraft Development team in Palo Alto, CA. You will work alongside mechanical, mechatronics, and aeronautical engineers to create the next generation of drone technology that powers on‑demand delivery worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer software and hardware solutions for the package loading subsystem, supporting global scalability.
• Collaborate with hardware and reliability engineers to design and refine automated testing infrastructure for loading and delivery systems.
• Conceptualize, design, and prototype novel robotic systems and sub‑assemblies for future aircraft platforms and ground infrastructure.
• Analyze test data using SQL, Python and related tools to identify trends, diagnose issues, and guide design decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical components or fixtures.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems such as BLDC motors, servos, and microcontrollers.
• Experience investigating technical issues independently and communicating findings across teams.

Required skills

• CAD and 3D printing for mechanical design.
• Python for data analysis, automation, and testing.
• MATLAB for data analysis.
• SQL for data querying.
• C++ for embedded systems development.
• Knowledge of BLDC motors, servos, and microcontrollers.
• Experience with automated testing infrastructure.
