Mechanical Technician – Hands‑On Role in Refrigeration Manufacturing

About the role

Zero Zone is seeking an entry‑level Mechanical Technician to join its Dyersville, IA production facility. You will work hands‑on with a team that builds commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, learning on the job while following detailed design documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical piping layout according to design drawings on assigned projects.
• Perform brazing and entry‑level MIG welding tasks under supervision.
• Conduct mechanical inspections alongside peers and the Quality team to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Support inspection and testing activities to maintain control over raw materials and finished products.
• Help analyze and resolve work problems related to product design and layout.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative work environment and interact professionally with all departments, vendors, and customers.

Required profile

• High mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow directions and work safely in a production setting.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings is a plus.
