Mechanical Field Engineer - Preservation

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer – Preservation to support the Louisiana LNG project near Lake Charles, LA. The role provides on‑site field engineering assistance, ensuring work is planned, executed safely and meets quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings, sketches and plan construction methods and procedures.
• Initiate field purchase requisitions and perform quantity take‑offs for materials and equipment.
• Verify commodity quantities using tracking systems or databases.
• Implement and monitor zero‑accident safety practices and ensure tools and equipment are safe.
• Conduct technical inspections and testing, supporting continuous learning.
• Coordinate system turnover by developing a clear understanding of system scope and area responsibilities.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical field engineering within large‑scale industrial projects.
• Familiarity with construction documentation, material management and safety/quality control processes.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
