Mechanical Equipment Engineer – Remanufacturing, Energy

About the role

Join Tesla’s Energy Remanufacturing team as a Mechanical Equipment Engineer. You will work hands‑on with production lines, rapidly solve problems, and help launch new equipment and processes for remanufacturing energy products.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze production data using statistical tools (JMP, Minitab) to assess uptime, OEE, cycle time, and quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, fabricate, install, and modify equipment for existing and new lines.
• Integrate machine data with the plant‑wide Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Create and maintain documentation: specifications, drawings, BOMs, PFMEA, control plans, and process flow charts.
• Work with Controls Engineers to troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and motion‑control systems.
• Identify bottlenecks, develop root‑cause analyses, and implement counter‑measures to maximize throughput.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in equipment ramp‑up, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanical systems, or motion control.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and deliver solutions on time.
• Experience developing operating and maintenance instructions and training operators.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab).
• 3D CAD (SolidWorks, 3Dx, CATIA) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).
• PLC and HMI programming/troubleshooting.
• MES integration.
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical system design.
• Motion‑control hardware and software.
