About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a mechanical engineering group focused on mechanical systems and equipment design for semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves technical leadership, team development, and delivery of complex products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mechanical engineering team, including staffing, mentoring, professional development, and budget adherence.
• Lead and execute engineering projects/programs, ensuring on‑time product releases and resolution of complex issues.
• Coordinate cross‑functional integration of engineering resources to meet product goals.
• Define product strategy, objectives, and roadmap for mechanical engineering technologies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple related teams and allocate resources.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for complex technical and operational challenges.
• Experience influencing senior management and cross‑functional partners.

Required skills

• Etch equipment development
• Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) source design & integration
• Plasma process hardware and subsystem development
• Cross‑functional product execution in high‑volume semiconductor environments
