Mechanical Engineer – NYC Building Code Specialist

About the role

The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in New York City building codes to develop and review mechanical system designs for commercial and residential projects. This fully remote, full‑time position involves close collaboration with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure code‑compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical engineering drawings that meet NYC building code requirements.
• Design and analyze HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems for various project types.
• Coordinate with architectural and structural teams to verify design compatibility and regulatory compliance.
• Update and revise technical drawings based on project specifications, mark‑ups, and client feedback.
• Conduct technical reviews and contribute to project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of New York City building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
