Mechanical Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials, you will apply your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the handling and assembly of components throughout the product life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and troubleshoot moderate‑difficulty mechanical issues under general supervision.
• Design or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, identifying sources for critical parts.
• Document engineering test reports and generate release documentation.
• Develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes.
• Enable handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts and sub‑assemblies throughout the product life cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 2–4 years of related mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, and Design for Excellence principles.
