Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Vehicle OS team in Sunnyvale. You will work across the full product design lifecycle, influencing requirements, design, integration, and validation of self‑driving vehicle hardware and sensor suites.

Key responsibilities

• Support mechanical engineering development of Applied Vehicles.
• Design external sensor suites, compute assemblies, and vehicle interiors.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of mechanical designs.
• Own design, analysis, and validation from component to fully integrated vehicle.
• Ensure designs are scalable and manufacturable.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet requirements of all teams.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years experience designing hardware and shipping products.
• Demonstrated experience with FEA/CAE.
• Experience in hardware reliability testing; NVH a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC, machining, metalworking, and welding.
• Background in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with AV components such as lidars, radars, and cameras.
