Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will support construction projects for the Department of Defense under the direct supervision of the Resident Engineer. This position is filled through a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation, allowing the DoD to recruit qualified professionals quickly for competitive service roles.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in prioritizing and assigning construction tasks.
• Interpret construction requirements and ensure they are met before work begins.
• Coordinate with contractors and technical staff to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Prepare and review mechanical design documents, drawings, and reports.
• Support on‑site inspections and provide technical guidance during project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Eligibility for a DoD security clearance.
• Experience working on construction or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under general supervision.
