Mechanical Engineer III

About the role

Applied Materials designs, builds and services cutting‑edge equipment for semiconductor and display manufacturing. As a Mechanical Engineer III you will apply physics, mathematics and materials science to solve complex mechanical problems, create custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Define, coordinate, perform and document engineering test reports.
• Develop, design, or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, or drawings for complex scope.
• Perform engineering analysis of complex scope with limited supervision.
• Technically lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes to enable handling, assembly and disassembly of parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Specify and review engineering documentation and implement concepts for complex product issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection and manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of GD&T, flow analysis and Design for Excellence principles.
