About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to design, develop, and modify mechanical systems that support the manufacturing of semiconductor and display chips. You will work on cutting‑edge equipment, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards throughout the product life cycle.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and troubleshoot a wide range of complex mechanical problems with limited supervision.
- Lead or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers.
- Design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes.
- Generate product specifications, engineering test reports, and detailed technical drawings.
- Communicate with internal and external customers on mechanical issues for specific projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience.
- Subject‑matter expertise with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, and Design for Excellence principles.
