Mechanical Engineer I – Entry Level

About the role

JST is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join its Engineering team in Meridian, ID. This entry‑level position is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career engineer who wants hands‑on experience designing custom wet‑processing equipment for high‑tech industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical and automation systems, including plumbing and tank assemblies, while meeting engineering standards and customer requirements.
• Support the creation and evolution of system specifications by evaluating design feasibility.
• Prepare final engineering drawings, approval layouts, and manufacturing instructions.
• Respond to manufacturing inquiries, verify that parts are built to spec, and resolve discrepancies by updating drawings, routings, and BOMs.
• Generate bills of materials, routing sheets, and ensure deliverables align with production schedules.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to communicate constraints and develop technical solutions.
• Assist with project estimating and quoting by selecting components and providing cost inputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 0–1 years of engineering experience (internships accepted).
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD design tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design‑for‑manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, plumbing diagrams, and technical drawings.
