About the role

Join Applied Materials' Fusion rotational training program as a Mechanical Engineer I. The two‑year program starts in Summer 2027 at the Gloucester, MA campus and rotates you through multiple engineering and manufacturing assignments, giving you hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components and identify sources for critical parts to resolve technical issues.
• Design or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, detailed drawings, and specifications.
• Perform and document engineering test reports and conduct engineering analysis.
• Develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly throughout the product life cycle.
• Apply established engineering processes to solve routine and standard mechanical problems.

Required profile

• Graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Good academic standing, preferably a GPA above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to solve complex problems and evaluate multiple sources of information.
• Strong communication skills to explain difficult information and build consensus.
• Flexible, adaptable mindset that thrives in a results‑driven culture.
