Mechanical Engineer – Electric Marine Systems

About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our fast‑paced maritime technology team. You will own major mechanical systems for next‑generation electric hydrofoiling vessels, guiding them from concept through production and deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and implementation of cross‑functional mechanical systems for electric marine platforms.
- Own system development across the full product lifecycle, including procurement, testing, validation, production support, and implementation.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and production‑ready engineering drawings using industry‑standard tools.
- Design components and assemblies for machining, composites, injection molding, bending, and formed sheet processes.
- Select appropriate materials, coatings, and surface finishes for durability and marine environmental resistance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure production readiness and quality control.
- Support system testing, troubleshooting, and validation to meet reliability and regulatory requirements.
- Work with operators and stakeholders to improve usability, maintainability, and performance.
- Contribute to continuous product improvements in a rapid‑innovation environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Strong CAD experience with 3D modeling and engineering drawing creation.
- Proven ability to design for manufacturing and production environments.
- Attention to safety, quality, and reliability.
- Hands‑on engineering mindset and ability to thrive in fast‑paced settings.
- Experience supporting quality control and production activities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Required skills
- 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing creation.
- Design for manufacturing (machining, composites, injection molding, bending, sheet forming).
- Material selection, coating, and surface‑finish specification.
- Testing, troubleshooting, and validation of mechanical systems.
- Quality control support and production readiness.
- Knowledge of marine corrosion resistance, ingress protection, galvanic isolation, and marine standards.
