Mechanical Engineer – 3D Designer (Early Career)

About the role

Join Siemens' Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation business unit as a Mechanical Engineer / 3D Designer. Based at the corporate headquarters in Wendell, NC, you will work on energy‑management equipment, turning customer concepts into detailed 3D models and production‑ready designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design parts and assemblies in 3D from concept through to release, under the guidance of a mentor and senior engineer.
• Collaborate with the factory manufacturing team to resolve design challenges during production.
• Identify and implement design enhancements to improve product performance.
• Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies, validate functionality, and release parts to production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (must be completed before start date).
• At least one year of hands‑on 3D modeling experience or equivalent academic projects.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
• Preferred experience with mechanical design for medium‑voltage switchgear and sheet‑metal components.
