Mechanical Design Engineer – Electronics Packaging

About the role

Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in electronics packaging. Based in Buffalo, NY, this hybrid position supports the design and analysis of high‑performance motion‑control components for aerospace applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3‑D part and assembly models using Siemens NX or comparable CAD tools.
• Perform finite element analysis, including steady‑state and transient thermal studies, with ANSYS Workbench.
• Conduct shock, random vibration, deflection, and vibration analyses on electronic boxes and printed circuit boards.
• Apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) and execute worst‑case, RSS, and 6‑Sigma tolerance analyses.
• Create and release engineering drawings that meet industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to access United States Export Controlled information.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.

Required skills

• Siemens NX (or similar solid‑modeling software).
• ANSYS Finite Element Analysis, including ANSYS ICEPAK and ANSYS Sherlock.
• Thermal analysis using ANSYS Workbench.
• Shock, random vibration, deflection, and vibration analysis of PCBs.
• GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance analysis (Worst Case, RSS, 6‑Sigma).
• Proficiency with modern CAD drafting tools.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.
