About the role
As a Mechanic Technician you will join a dedicated team that keeps 3M's manufacturing operation in Menomonie running safely, efficiently, and with pride. The position offers diverse, hands‑on technical work, benefits from day one, and clear pathways for growth.
Key responsibilities
- Follow safe work behaviors and watch for hazards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment such as slitters, extruders, web systems, conveyors, winders, compressors and pumps.
- Machine and fabricate parts as needed.
- Weld, braze, rig and tram equipment and perform general building repairs.
- Recommend equipment improvements to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Create a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Document completed work in an electronic logbook.
Required profile
- Two‑year associate degree in mechanical maintenance, electro‑mechanics, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering, or be within six months of completing such a degree.
- Or a one‑year technical diploma in mechanical maintenance plus at least two years of maintenance experience.
- Or a high school diploma/GED with five or more years of mechanical/maintenance experience.
- Reliable transportation to Menomonie, WI (or willingness to relocate).
- Completion of a job‑related readiness assessment.
Required skills

- Machining and fabricating parts.
- Welding, brazing, rigging and general equipment repair.
- Recommending equipment improvements to boost performance and efficiency.

- Hourly pay ranging from $37.53 to $39.05, with a $2.00 night‑shift differential and double‑time on Sundays.
