About the role

The Meat Clerk reports to the Meat Department Manager and ensures customers receive prompt, friendly service while handling fresh meat orders accurately. This part‑time position involves wrapping, labeling, stocking, and maintaining a clean, safe meat department.

Key responsibilities

  • Wrap, label, and package cut and ground meat according to company standards.
  • Stock the meat case, pull inventory from the cooler, and maintain product presentation.
  • Provide superior customer service: greet shoppers, assist with product location, and handle phone orders.
  • Clean and sanitize the department, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift and log sanitation activities.
  • Assist receiving of meat deliveries, replenish supplies, and support inventory counts.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a pleasant disposition.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lb, and work in varying temperatures.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
