Materials Project Manager – NPI Supply Chain

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Materials Project Manager to drive New Product Introduction (NPI) supply‑chain activities. You will work closely with engineering, sourcing, and production teams to ensure materials are available, cost‑effective, and meet quality standards for cutting‑edge semiconductor and display products.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, and perform make‑versus‑buy analysis.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, coordinating product‑development deliverables through matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations, conduct risk assessments, and monitor supplier performance.
• Manage the materials change‑control process, track landed‑cost targets, and publish key process indicators.
• Partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues and escalate when necessary.

Required profile

• Demonstrated depth of expertise in materials sourcing, supply‑chain planning, and cost analysis.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams, influence stakeholders, and solve complex problems in a fast‑paced environment.
