Materials Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager to drive engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements for its semiconductor and display equipment programs. The role works closely with suppliers, engineering, and cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing needs to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Support creation, release, and updates of new project material strategies.
• Negotiate supplier price and delivery terms and, when required, contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality, and cost, and conduct risk assessments for critical parts.

Required profile

• No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members.
• Solves problems in straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.

Required skills

• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Ability to generate and track Key Process Indicators (KPI).
• Conduct make‑versus‑buy and supplier risk assessments.
