Materials Project Management Manager (MPM)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior manager to lead its Materials Project Management function in Austin. The role focuses on integrating planning, scheduling, inventory and cost elements to support semiconductor and display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a cross‑functional, integrated planning process covering make‑vs‑buy, capacity, scheduling, inventory and cost.
• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts and historical usage to create build‑to‑order and build‑to‑forecast plans.
• Coordinate with business teams to define cost‑effective production strategies and monitor material inventories.
• Oversee production scheduling, track progress, and address issues affecting on‑time delivery.
• Implement inventory control systems with Finance, identify discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and maintain supplier scorecards.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of materials management concepts and related functional areas.
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams, set priorities and allocate resources.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to resolve complex operational issues.
• Influence senior stakeholders and represent the materials organization on cross‑functional task forces.
