Materials Manager

About the role

Moog is seeking a Materials Manager to lead production control functions for its Space & Defense division in Blacksburg, VA. You will oversee material flow, inventory accuracy, and ERP planning to support the company’s mission of delivering high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production control (PC) functions for all value streams across central plants.
• Supervise ERP planners, materials analysts, and other assigned roles.
• Ensure timely issuance of production orders and smooth material movement through the plant.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions, including cycle counting on‑site and offshore.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across functions and levels.
• Analyze system data to manage production order cancellations and closures.
• Prioritize team work to meet monthly shipping goals.
• Resolve conflicts within and outside the PC team and provide feedback for training.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives for workflows, processes, and procedures.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Scheduling to optimize inventory levels and support customer delivery commitments.
• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies in both in‑house and offshore inventory.
• Maintain data integrity in the computer‑based materials system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Operations.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervision experience.
• Proven experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong interpersonal and team‑based communication skills.
