Materials Handler

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Materials Handler to support the production of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense. The role involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials while maintaining accurate inventory records in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Organize and store materials in designated areas following safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems.
• Prepare and package materials for outbound shipments with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with procurement and production teams to fulfill material requisitions.
• Monitor inventory levels, anticipate shortages or overages, and adjust orders.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize material flow.
• Collaborate with logistics partners for transportation between suppliers and production facilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics or supply‑chain certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a material handler in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with inventory management and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
