Material Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Material Project Manager to lead forecasting, sourcing, and commercialization of materials essential for semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components while managing cost and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers and coordinate demand signals through MRP.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis, support outsourcing decisions, and manage supplier price and delivery negotiations.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, coordinating product development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Execute commercialization material plans, manage change control, and track key process indicators and landed‑cost targets.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify critical, long‑lead, and inspection‑required parts and develop supplier roadmaps.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials sourcing, risk assessment, and cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain best practices and ability to work across functional teams.
• Effective problem‑solving skills with a focus on quality and supplier performance.
• Leadership capability to mentor less‑experienced colleagues and drive small projects.
