Material Damage Appraiser – Eastern Massachusetts

About the role

Join MAPFRE’s employee‑focused Material Damage team in Eastern Massachusetts. You will work with a management group that values integrity, collaboration, and professional growth while assessing vehicle damage for insurance claims.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct accurate vehicle damage assessments using industry‑leading software.
• Prepare itemized appraisals for parts, labor, and materials.
• Negotiate with repair shops, claimants, and policyholders to ensure fair repairs.
• Stay current on repair techniques, labor rates, and state regulations.
• Travel for field inspections, re‑inspections, and catastrophe duty as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or specialized training.
• Valid MA Appraiser License (required).
• 3–6 years of appraisal experience.
• Experience negotiating with autobody repair shops and using appraisal software.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to customer service, integrity, and continuous learning.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Required skills

• Industry appraisal software.
• I‑CAR certification (preferred).
