Material Coordinator/Handler – 1st Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Material Coordinator/Handler for the first shift at its Austin facility. The role supports manufacturing operations by managing inventory, moving kits and materials, and ensuring clean‑room readiness. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, operating industrial vehicles and maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Locate, audit, and transfer kits or materials as required, including satellite receiving functions.
• Perform cycle counts, verify inventory, and process non‑conforming material.
• Receive parts, update inventory records, and conduct transactions in Oracle or SAP.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles such as pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and overhead cranes; drive a van or truck for vendor pickups/drop‑offs.
• Maintain shortage reports, review work orders, and purge excess or obsolete stock.
• Prepare and regulate material for delivery to clean‑room environments while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work: standing for long periods, walking, bending, lifting, and working in noisy or tight spaces.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment and work in clean‑room conditions.
• Willingness to operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Attention to detail for inventory accuracy and compliance with safety standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP inventory system.
• Experience using Oracle for inventory transactions.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Operation of pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
