About the role

We are seeking a qualified Mate (Second Mate / Chief Mate) for a permanent position on traditional sailing vessels.

Key responsibilities

    Required profile

    • Strong leadership, seamanship, and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous service on traditional sailing vessels, especially square‑rigged ships, is a significant advantage.

    Required skills

    • Chief Officer Certificate of Competency (STCW Regulation A‑II/2) with endorsement under A‑I/10.
    • Valid Medical Certificate (STCW Regulation A‑I/9).
    • General Operator’s Certificate (GOC).
    • STCW Basic Safety Training (A‑VI/1) and Advanced Safety Training (A‑VI/2‑1, A‑VI/3, A‑VI/4‑1, A‑VI/4‑2).
    • Crowd Management and Crisis Management Training (STCW A‑V/2‑1, A‑V/2‑2).
    • Valid C1/D Visa for service in the United States.
