Master Mechanic – Heavy Equipment & Crushing Fleet

About the role

Kemp Quarries Inc., a leading producer of construction aggregates in the Oklahoma region, is seeking a Master Mechanic to maintain and repair its mobile equipment and crushing fleet. This safety‑sensitive position requires strong technical expertise and a commitment to reliable, on‑time service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, pre‑shift inspections, and repairs on mobile and crushing equipment.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, and conduct welding, brazing, and cutting as needed.
• Communicate repair status with the shop and follow MSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, AC, and brake systems.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of mechanical experience with heavy or rock‑crushing equipment.
• Technical school certification preferred; welding certification helpful.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL beneficial) and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, travel to multiple sites, and complete DOT physical or MSHA certification if required.

Required skills

• Welding, brazing and cutting.
• Heavy equipment maintenance and component removal/installation (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• Use of Cat ET program for troubleshooting and calibration.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematic diagrams and technical manuals.
