Master Electrician – Medium Voltage

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a self‑motivated Master Electrician with strong project‑management experience to maintain and upgrade its medium‑voltage electrical infrastructure. The role involves both routine maintenance and the leadership of complex facility projects in a commercial/industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead all phases of facilities‑related projects, including construction, electrical upgrades, pipe‑fitting, and equipment installation.
• Perform preventive, emergency, and corrective maintenance on 13,200 V primary distribution and 480 V‑120 V low‑voltage systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair medium‑voltage switchgear, double‑ended substations, automatic transfer switches, UPS, and static transfer switches.
• Communicate project status and work requests with customers, project managers, and other trades.
• Provide training and guidance to technicians and ensure safe electrical work practices.
• Assist in developing RFPs, project budgets, and cost estimates.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Master Electrician‑level license (Kansas City, MO preferred) and experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E and arc‑flash safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead project teams and supervise contract work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
