Markets Specialist – Credit Risk Management

About the role

The Markets Specialist will support the Credit Risk Management unit of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The role focuses on analyzing credit risk, lending activities, and collateral policies to help maintain financial stability and support monetary policy implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent analyses of legal, financial, systemic and reputational risks associated with depository institutions.
• Synthesize multiple data sources to assess the safety and soundness of credit extensions and collateral valuations.
• Develop conclusions and recommendations for complex compliance and strategic initiatives.
• Identify emerging risk issues, trends and potential policy gaps.
• Advise senior management on lending, collateral and credit‑risk policy matters.
• Coordinate with system‑wide policy teams, especially on payment‑system risk.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Understanding of credit risk concepts, banking regulations and Federal Reserve policies.
• Excellent written communication for producing persuasive, well‑supported analyses.
• Ability to work onsite in the Boston office and collaborate with senior leaders.
• Relevant experience in risk management, finance or related fields.
