Marine Alignment Technician

About the role

Saronic Technologies is looking for a Marine Alignment Technician to ensure precise drivetrain alignment on autonomous vessels built at our Franklin, LA shipyard. You will work hands‑on with driveshafts, bearings, gearboxes and couplings, collaborating closely with production, engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Align driveshafts from waterjet to engine, including bearings, gearboxes and couplings.
• Perform equipment mounting, foundation verification and installation quality checks.
• Conduct inspections, start‑up activities, functional testing and operational verification during construction and commissioning.
• Support vessel activation, dock trials, sea trials, customer demonstrations and readiness events.
• Coordinate with production, commissioning, engineering and maritime operations to meet delivery schedules.
• Assist root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve alignment reliability.
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test reports, alignment documentation and operational logs.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on vessel quality and integration efficiency.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, technical certification or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in shipbuilding, vessel maintenance, marine operations, industrial equipment installation or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and test documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and hands‑on problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work onboard vessels, in fabrication facilities and waterfront environments.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.
