Manufacturing Test Quality Engineer IV

About the role

The Manufacturing Test Quality Engineer bridges high‑complexity test engineering with advanced quality assurance methodologies within the semiconductor capital equipment sector. This role designs, validates, and optimizes production‑line testing processes for complex systems such as lithography, CVD, and etch equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, validate, and document new manufacturing test plans and modify fixture designs during New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Develop, pilot, and troubleshoot automated test scripts and software using Mayan and Python.
• Lead structured failure investigations (8D, CAPA, 5 Whys) for hardware failures on the assembly line.
• Monitor and analyze First‑Pass Yield data, implementing corrective actions to improve yield.
• Perform Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies to ensure test station reliability.
• Ensure testing protocols comply with cleanroom contamination regulations (ISO Class 4 / Class 100) and SEMI standards.
• Partner with NPI Process and Hardware Design groups to integrate test access paths and diagnostic loops into equipment designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Physics or a related field.
• 7‑10+ years of engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing, complex medical equipment, or high‑tech aerospace capital hardware.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑power RF generators, ultra‑high vacuum environments, gas delivery manifolds, or precision optical/laser alignment mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Familiarity with SEMI standards (SEMI S2, SEMI S8).
