Manufacturing Technician (Overnight Shift)

About the role

Axalta is hiring a Manufacturing Technician for an overnight shift (10:30 pm to 7:00 am) at its Chillicothe, Ohio facility. The role covers running production equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining housekeeping and supporting the coating production process. The pay is $23-$24 per hour, with a $1.79 shift differential.

Key responsibilities

• Run pumps, agitators, shakers and scales safely and efficiently, including daily scale calibrations and viscosity measurements
• Wash equipment such as tanks, pumps, piping and loading equipment
• Load tanks of 5 to 500 gallons and move, lift and load gallon stock, drums and totes
• Filtrate product through FSI filters and traps, and label containers according to process, customer and DOT requirements
• Take part in housekeeping and area cleanup, and audit the work area
• Follow SOPs, site and area guidelines (e.g., fire watch, breaks, availability), and assist in training other employees
• Perform selective maintenance and equipment switch-outs, and operate computer-controlled equipment

Required profile

• High school diploma (minimum); preferred: at least 3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours a day, and to climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel and reach above shoulder height
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and to write routine reports
• Ability to work with hazardous materials using proper PPE
• Preferred: previous manufacturing experience, lift truck operation, and ability to speak effectively to customers and employees
