Manufacturing Technician II (T2)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment building and testing multimillion‑dollar display and wafer‑fabrication equipment. The role involves assembling, repairing, and testing electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic components while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists to build, repair and test assemblies.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshoot faults and correct errors.
• Utilize test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to verify functionality.
• Enter progress, labor and expense data into computer systems and document completed work.
• Receive parts, audit inventory for completeness and inspect components for defects.
• Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment and report any hazards.

Required profile

• Developed analytical skills and ability to apply scientific methods.
• Understanding of how the manufacturing team integrates with other functions.
• No supervisory responsibilities; works independently.
• Recognizes and resolves typical problems using established procedures.
• Impacts the quality of own work and contributes to overall product quality.
• Effective communication skills for information exchange.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists.
• Use of test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
• Computer programming, software installation and repair.
• Data entry on computer terminals for work tracking.
