Manufacturing Quality Engineer

About the role

ON.energy is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for its utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems. Based in Houston with significant travel to domestic and international sites, the role bridges production, quality, supply chain and design teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze production flow, line performance, labor utilisation and equipment layout to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor supplier plan‑versus‑actual production output and identify gaps affecting delivery, capacity or schedule commitments.
• Assess procurement and material readiness for mass‑production start, including part availability, supplier ramp plans and supply continuity risks.
• Validate day‑to‑day supply‑chain execution, material flow, shortages, open issues and readiness to meet production demand.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support new product introduction, pilot builds, process validation and ramp‑up activities.
• Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, assembly methods and process robustness.
• Monitor process capability, yield, cycle time, scrap and other operational metrics to drive performance improvements.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain dotted‑line relationships with Category Managers to align supplier performance, sourcing priorities and capacity readiness.
• Track supplier internal KPIs such as production throughput, quality performance, first‑pass yield and output stability to identify trends and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
