Manufacturing Quality Engineer II

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II will apply Lean Six Sigma tools to solve complex manufacturing quality issues and drive continuous improvement across the Austin facility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular MRRT meetings to address manufacturing non‑conformances, drive containment actions, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform internal quality audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100 and other internal standards.
• Lead 8D investigations and Kaizen events to resolve significant deviations and implement CAPA.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to contain supplier‑caused non‑conformances and ensure effective 8D closure.
• Mentor and train Quality/Engineering Technicians on standards, best‑known methods and continuous‑improvement techniques.

Required profile

• 3+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to use Lean Six Sigma and poka‑yoke solutions for complex problems.
• Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.
• Proven mentorship and coaching skills for junior engineers and technicians.
