Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join its Space & Defense – Power & Data group in Cleveland, Ohio. The role provides end‑to‑end support for fiber optic cable and transceiver production, from design through testing and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Simplex and Complex fiber cable and transceiver production floors.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of fiber‑optic termination, wire‑harness and transceiver design, assembly and optical testing.
• Train technicians on new or updated processes and develop training materials.
• Source, maintain and repair production tools, equipment and fixturing.
• Conduct process analysis to improve throughput and perform failure analysis on inventory fallout and customer RMAs.
• Contribute to workflow allocation for incoming sales orders.
• Design and manage CAD models, technical drawings, work instructions, assembly aids and tooling documentation.
• Generate and release part documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing process engineering within fiber‑optic or optoelectronics environments.
• Strong mechanical design background and ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
• Proven ability to train production staff and collaborate with operations teams.
• Analytical mindset for process and failure analysis.
