Manufacturing Paint Process Technician

About the role

OPmobility is looking for a Paint Process Technician to join its Anderson, SC site. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining the paint line, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy paint standards and start/stop the paint line according to the production plan and safety rules.
• Control paint operations and equipment, including robots, guns and jigs.
• Check quality and conformity of the application process following PPCM procedures.
• Perform level‑1 maintenance on robots and all paint equipment.
• Maintain paint applicators and minimize line stops.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions during the shift.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement workshops and propose measures to enhance product and process quality.
• Monitor and optimise paint consumption (primer, basecoat, clear coat, hardeners, solvents, rinsing solvents).
• Provide coverage for teammates during breaks.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (industrial preferred) or technician certification with specialities in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics or pneumatics.
• 2‑3 years of experience in painted‑parts production.
• Ability to work any shift and on‑call duty as needed.
• Strong safety mindset and good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Robotics operation and troubleshooting.
• Paint equipment handling (guns, jigs, booths).
• Level‑1 maintenance procedures.
• Computer skills and structured problem‑solving (POMS A3).
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
