Manufacturing Operator – 3rd Shift (Onsite)

About the role

Pratt & Whitney is seeking motivated individuals for a 3rd‑shift Manufacturing Operator position at its North Berwick, Maine facility. The role is designed for candidates with little or no machining background and provides comprehensive training to become a certified operator.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling and grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs for routine production of weldments and assemblies.
• Interpret operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instructions to perform grinding, turning, facing, boring, and chamfering operations.
• Verify finished work against specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
• Perform total preventive maintenance (TPM) on equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and production personnel to resolve machining issues and support part process development.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (required for program access).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Preferably 1+ year experience in manufacturing, automotive, or a related trade.
• Strong numerical skills for computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Capability to manage multiple competing priorities.
