Manufacturing Manager

About the role

The Manufacturing Manager will lead the operations group to ensure cohesive interaction across all functions and alignment with corporate goals. This role provides clear direction to production supervisors, drives performance improvements, and safeguards safety, quality, and cost objectives on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Align plant financial expectations with quality, production, maintenance, safety and customer standards.
• Optimize staffing plans to achieve an effective cost structure.
• Drive continuous improvement using OEE and Tableau data, addressing performance gaps.
• Develop and enforce housekeeping standards for optimal production environments.
• Resolve deviations quickly by collaborating with internal and external teams.
• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly production performance and implement corrective actions.
• Control production spending within budget while prioritizing high‑value activities.
• Establish repeatable manufacturing methods and flexible change‑over programs to minimize downtime.
• Lead, develop and manage production personnel, including supervisors, operators, packers and material handlers.
• Share best practices across Silgan locations to optimize processes.
• Prepare regular performance reports with analysis and counter‑measures.
• Support capital projects from inception through completion.
• Maintain a safe work environment and participate in the plant Safety Committee.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing or production management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide supervisors and production teams.
• Analytical mindset for interpreting OEE and Tableau data.
• Experience managing budgets, cost control and capital projects.
• Knowledge of safety, quality and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Effective communication with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams.
