Manufacturing Lead

About the role

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Manufacturing Lead to join the Ottava production team in Santa Clara. The role serves as the secondary point of contact on the production floor, driving daily execution, removing operational barriers, and ensuring alignment across shifts and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily floor activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Assign and coordinate technician work priorities based on production needs and staffing levels.
• Mentor, coach, and develop manufacturing technicians, providing hands‑on troubleshooting and skill development.
• Facilitate shift handoffs, communicate status, risks, and critical issues to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain proficiency across multiple sub‑assemblies, create and release work orders in MES/ERP, and support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a Type II/III medical device or complex electromechanical equipment environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, coordinating production activities, and driving execution in a regulated setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP and MES/ERP systems.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, torque wrenches, and isolation techniques.
• Hands‑on experience with anti‑static/ESD controls and assembly tools such as screwdrivers, presses, and adhesives.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
